John Cage hat mich im Laufe meiner künstlerischen Entwicklung -speziell der Soul Source Records - immer stärker beeindruckt und vielfältig inspiriert.
Seine Fülle an Ideen zu konzeptioneller, lautloser, gedanklichen „Musik“ und abstrakten Klängen, visuellen Partituren, zu Hören durch Sehen u.v.m. hat mich am künstlerischen Weg zum imaginierten Klang meiner Soul Source Records -und deren Generierung von Klang jenseits von Schall und Ton- ganz wesentlich geleitet und bestärkt.
2017 hatte ich dann im Rahmen des internationalen Performance-Meetings „#JohnCageSTEPS“ im Cage House Halberstadt zum ersten Mal Gelegenheit, das John Cage Projekt in der Burchardi-Kirche zu erleben, und -mehr noch- meine Version des dort über 639 Jahre zur Aufführung kommenden Cage-Stückes ORGAN²/ASLSP -nämlich ORGAN²/A SSR LP- direkt vor der Cage Orgel live aufzuzeichen.
Throughout my artistic development—especially that of my Soul Source Records—John Cage has increasingly impressed me and inspired me many ways.
His wealth of ideas on conceptual, silent, imaginary “music” and abstract sounds, visual scores, “hearing through seeing,” and much more has significantly guided and encouraged me on my artistic path to the imagined sound of my Soul Source Records—and their generating of sound beyond audible tones.
In 2017, as part of the international performance gathering “#JohnCageSTEPS” at the Cage House in Halberstadt, I had the opportunity to experience the famous John Cage project at the Burchardi Church for the first time and—even more—to record my version of the Cage piece ORGAN²/ASLSP, that has been performed there for 639 (!) years. My Soul Source Record ORGAN²/A SSR LP was recorded live right in front of the Cage organ.
